Dear alumni and friends of Gordon Tech:
As I look back upon my years at Gordon Tech, I cannot help but be proud. Proud of the students who I have taught, proud of the baseball players that I’ve coached, proud of the alumni who come back to tell me about their successes. Most of all – I’m proud of the GT spirit, that “certain something” that all of the young men and women of Gordon embody, the spirit of hard work, loyalty and an always positive attitude. If you take a second look, you will see that this spirit is alive and well at GT today.
The Gordon Tech that exists today may not seem to be the same school you graduated from. The enrollment isn’t at 3,000, the machine shop and the jukebox in the cafeteria are gone, and there are girls in the building! But if you look closely, you will see that it is the same GT. Our students still work hard in their classes hoping to create a better life for themselves after high school. Our parents still sacrifice a great deal to send their sons and daughters to Gordon. Our teachers are still dedicated to instilling the values of faith, respect, discipline and excellence into every student who walks through our halls. Our administration is still focused on leading Gordon Tech to be the top high school in the city of Chicago.
To continue our mission, and to continue sharing the spirit behind Gordon Tech, we need your help. We need you to take a close look at Gordon Tech, and to invest in our future. Our school has amazing potential, but we need your help in realizing that potential. Will you consider taking a closer look not just at GT, but also the GT spirit that still lives in you today? Consider making a donation to the Fund for Excellence so that the GT spirit will continue to thrive for years to come.
Keep swingin’!
